Burnham.
A total of nearly 70 miles
over the weekend. Good hard sailing on the way down to Burnham with winds of
between 20 and 30 knots. Short handed crews meant little leisure time on
passage and so had to make up for lost time once ashore. Arrived Burnham around
6. Somewhat surprisingly, I don’t recall too much of the evening. I do recall
a curry, and a last minute dash to a pub before closing and somewhere along the
line, gate-crashing a wedding. Probably best forgotten!
Lighter winds on return
leg, allowing ship to ship transfers of essential supplies (cold beer). Only
three navy’s have mastered the art, the Royal Navy, the US Navy and WWYC!!!!
Sailing following the Swin Spitway crossing and discussions about Carribean
beaches, palm trees, cocktails and dancing girls being the order of the day.
